A 52-year-old woman was followed and raped after exiting a subway station in Queens last week.

Police are trying to identify a black man in his 20s who began harassing a woman after she exited the R Train Rego Park subway station about 10 p.m. Thursday.

The man first asked the woman for her name and phone number near the subway station.

After refusing, the woman walked into a Rite Aid near the station, where the man continued to harass her.

Police said the man then left the store and waited outside for the woman. When she also left the drug store, he followed her down Saunders Street and grabbed her.

He threw her down a flight of steps on the sidewalk and raped her.

Before fleeing, the man stole the woman’s cell phone. She was taken to a nearby hospital.

The man is believed to be about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and has a mustache. He told the woman his name was “Junior.”

Police ask anyone with information about this crime to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
