Police: Man stabbed in mouth with broken bottle during robbery
A man was stabbed in the mouth with a broken bottle Friday night during a brutal robbery in Frankford that led to the arrest of two suspects.
Police said the victim, 54, was on the 5200 block of Frankford Avenue around 6:40 p.m. when he was approached by two male acquaintances, aged 42 and 25.
The 42-year-old man allegedly stabbed the victim in the mouth with a broken bottle.
Investigators said the 25-year-old man then held the victim down as the 42-year-old man rifled through his pockets, taking $26 in cash.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he received three stitches.
Officers were able to quickly track down the two suspects and arrested them without incident.
Their identities have not yet been released.
