Six Flags to build ride with tallest drop in the world
Six Flags Great Adventure in Ocean County announced today it will build the roller coaster with the tallest drop in the world.
The 41-story ride, dubbed Zumanjaro:Drop of Doom, will elevate riders 415 feet, and then drop them back to Earth at 90 mph.
The amusement park, based in Jackson Township, plans to open the ride in 2014.
Zumanjaro will work in tandem with the park’s flagship roller coaster, the 456-foot Kingda Ka.
The Kingda train will launch toward the Zumanjaro riders during their decent at speeds of up to 128 mph. The Zumanjaro towers will be built on the face of the Kingda coaster.
