Nearly two dozen people were cuffed for drug crimes and one person was treated for symptoms related to taking the drug “molly” during last weekend’s Boston Calling festival.

Boston police said Monday that officers arrested 21 people on drug-related crimes during the two-day music festival on City Hall Plaza. Police also issued five citations.

Officers were also called to help in 10 “sick assists” that included one person needing help after taking “molly,”  police said. The drug, which is a powder form of MDMA, has come into the spotlight recently after three people  recently overdosed during a concert at the House of Blues. One person, a 19-year-old New Hampshire woman, died.

Last weekend’s concert was headlined by Vampire Weekend and Passion Pit and featured other acts including Major Lazer and Kendrick Lamar. The first day of the show was centered around alternative and indie rock bands. Sunday’s lineup focused on dance music. Tens of thousands of people were expected to attend.

While police said the fall show was conducted in a “successful manner,” it did not happen as peacefully as the first ever Boston Calling festival.

After the inaugural Boston Calling festival in May, a police spokeswoman told Metro that officers made no arrests and issued no citations.
