UPDATE, 3:30 p.m.

According to multiple reports, a second person has been arrested in connection with the Rite Aid store manager shooting.

Police today took into custody 23-year-old Rita Pultro, they announced. Officials say she was the co-conspirator in the robbery and murder.

Original story:

A 24-year-old Grays Ferry man was arrested and charged Saturday with the murder of a Delaware County pharmacy manager, reports say.

David Wiggins, of South Philadelphia, was taken into police custody Saturday and faces first degree murder charges and several weapons charges. Wiggins, along with an accomplice, are alleged to have killed 40-year-old Jason McClay Thursday night during an attempted robbery of a Chester Rite Aid.

Police identified Wiggins, who apparently has been arrested 18 times prior, from fingerprints found at the scene, according to NBC Philadelphia. Chester police arrested Wiggins Saturday after searching his home on the 1500 block of South 30th Street.

Police are still on the lookout for Wiggins accomplice, who was described as female wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

McClay was killed around 10 p.m. Thursday when Wiggins and the unknown woman entered the Rite Aid store, at the 2700 block of W 9th Street. After a brief scuffle, one of the intruders shot McClay in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the website reported.

McClay, who lived in Broomall, was a graduate of Haverford High School and served in the Navy, the website reported.
