Police: West Philadelphia man charged with DUI after hitting two cars
A 25-year-old West Philadelphia man has been charged with DUI, aggravated assault while DUI and other related offenses after he hit two cars while driving, injuring one person, on Cedar Avenue Monday, Philadelphia police said today.
Christopher Boozer, of the 600 block of South Conestoga Street, was driving westbound on the 5100 block of Cedar Avenue in a rented 2013 Nissan Altima around 10:22 p.m. Sept. 30. He allegedly struck a 2011 Kia traveling southbound on 51st street that was turning eastbound onto Cedar Avenue. Boozer then struck a second vehicle, a parked 2012 Ford Escape, which was unattended.
Boozer got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
The Kia had caught fire and a 25-year-old female was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and treated for non-life threatening injuries. A second female, a passenger in the car with Boozer, was uninjured.
Boozer returned to the scene and was positively identified and arrested for driving under the influence, police said.
