A Bronx man was arraigned in Manhattan Supreme Court today on drug trafficking charges — and prosecutors say he was keeping kilos of cocaine and loaded guns in an apartment near the tony Bronx private school Horace Mann.

New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor and the Drug Enforcement Administration announced the indictment, outlining the seizure of approximately 31 kilograms of cocaine an

The accused, 30-year-old Juan Rojas, was nabbed when authorities showed up at his 20-year-old girlfriend’s apartment in the middle of the day on Sept. 26, prosecutors said. Both Rojas and his girlfriend, Ana Then, were home at the time.

Special Narcotics investigators, DEA agents and Port Authority Police K-9 officers searched the apartment and reportedly found 31 kilos of coke in a bedroom closet, wrapped in cellophane smeared with grease. Prosecutors said grease is often used to conceal the smell of drugs from police dogs.

Prosecutors said that because a kilo of coke sells for about $50,000, the total haul was over $1 million. Rojas is accused of trafficking 50 kilos of coke per month.

They also found $1.6 million and two loaded guns, prosectors said.

Rojas’ girlfriend pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge for having the apartment under her name. She was not indicted and is expected to receive a sentence of probation.

Rojas’ supreme court arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 6.
