Bridgewater hairdresser wins car from ‘Good Morning America’

GMA

A Bridgewater hairdresser got quite the surprise Monday morning when the crew of “Good Morning America” landed on her doorstep.

Corinne Pestana, 49, is a hairdresser and baseball coach in Bridgewater, Mass., where she was nominated for The Great GMA Car Giveaway Contest by her best friend.

The mother of three, who called the new ride “wicked awesome,” was given a red Mazda from GMA correspondent Sara Haines.

Until today, Pestana had been driving an 11-year-old car with more than 200,000 miles on it, according to WCVB.

“She is incredibly deserving of this always putting her kids and others first. One of her jobs is a hairdresser. She has actually cut people’s hair at late hours of the night just to accommodate others,” Corinne’s best friend Carroll wrote in her nomination. “Corinne makes such an impact on the kids. Her busy life also includes coaching a baseball team for free. All the kids love her. What a difference she has made in her community.”

The show is giving away two other cars this week on Channel 5 during “Good Morning America,” which airs Monday to Friday between 7 and 9 a.m.
