(UPDATE) Ex-boyfriend picked up boy one week ago, disappears
UPDATE: DaShawn Thorpe, 2, was located Friday afternoon in Allentown in the care of Tyrone Rowland, his mother’s ex-boyfriend, police said.
Rowland was charged with interfering with the custody of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child.
ORIGINAL STORY: Police are investigating reports that a child last known to be in the custody of the mother’s ex-boyfriend has been missing for several days.The mother of 2-year-old DaShawn Thorpe reported the boy missing Wednesday.
According to police, the mother left Dashawn in the care of her ex-boyfriend, Tyrone Rowland, 27, of the 5400 block of Windsor Avenue.
On Wednesday, Dec. 11, Rowland picked up Thorpe from Precious Moments Daycare at Germantown and Lehigh avenues, with the understanding that he would return the boy on Sunday, Dec. 15, which did not happen.
Rowland and Thorpe have not been seen since that date.
