Northeast Philadelphia water main breaks, floods busy intersection
A water main break in Northeast Philadelphia early this morning has buried the well-traveled intersection under water, reports say.
CBS Philadelphia is reporting that the Water Department is working to plug a leak in a 60-inch transmission main which ruptured near Torresdale and Frankford Avenues.
The pipe, located in Frankford, burst around 9:30 a.m., according to the news outlet.
SEPTA told CBS that bus routes 5 and 56 will be detoured.
