UPDATE: Two men charged in string of North End robberies
Update: Boston Police have arrested two men in connection with the robberies. Richard Puopolo, 27, was charged with Unarmed Robbery, Armed Robbery, and Possession Class E, Drugs. Carlos Venable, 43, was charged with Unarmed Robbery, and Armed Robbery, according to the Boston Police Department.
The duo was arraigned in court on Monday.
Earlier: Police are on high alert as Downtown Boston businesses have been specifically targeted in string of robberies over the weekend.
The Boston Police Department issued a community alert regarding the burglaries, which took place at several convenience stores and even one Starbucks. The two individuals pictured above are thought to be suspects in the crimes.
A total of 6 stores in the area were targeted on Saturday and Sunday, including Venice Convenience Store, 7-Eleven on East India Row and 103 State St, the Salem Street Market, Starbucks, and Adams Convenience.
Police were called to the Starbucks at 2 Atlantic Ave. in the North End at 7:22 a.m. on Sunday for a robbery in progress.
A victim stated that she had been robbed by a white male, in his early thirties with slicked back black hair, wearing a dark gray double breasted pea coat. The suspect was not armed. A second suspect, described as a light skinned black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a zipper, was also present.
