Woman fights off would-be rapist in Queens
A woman fought off an attempted rapist in Queens early Sunday morning, police said.
A 22-year-old woman was walking on 30 Avenue in Astoria when a man approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground about 3:25 a.m.
Police said the man then tried to rape the woman, but she fought with the suspect and he fled.
The woman sustained cuts and scratches on her legs and buttocks during the attack but refused medical attention at the scene.
Cops describe the man as Hispanic, in his early 30s, 5-foot-7 and weighing 145 pounds.
