VIDEO: Police seek East Oak Lane 7-Eleven robber

Philadelphia police are hopeful the public can help them solve a robbery at the 7-Eleven store in East Oak Lane earlier this week.

The suspect entered the store at 6771 N. Fifth St. shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday armed with a handgun, according to police. He then pointed the gun at a store clerk and demanded money.

The robber fled the store south on Fifth Street carrying a bag of cash.

Police described the suspect as a black male of a medium complexion, 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds. He had a thin mustache with a beard and was wearing a black knit hat, a black, waist-length, heavy canvas jacket (possible Dickies brand) with a small white and yellow label on the front, dark colored pants and Timberland boots.

Police posted video of the robbery to YouTube on Thursday. They urge anyone with information about the crime to call Northwest Detectives Division at 215-686-3353/3354.
