A knife-wielding man robbed a string of laundromats and dry cleaners in the last six weeks on Manhattan’s East Side, in one case punching a 70-year-old female worker in the face, police said.

The first robbery occurred Feb. 22 at around 8:05 p.m., when police said the suspect took $300 from the register at the 217 Laundromat on East 26th Street in Kips Bay.

A few days later on the Upper East Side, the man stole $200 from Alpine Cleaners on East 70th Street at around 7:25 p.m. Feb. 26, according to police.

Cops said the man returned to Kips Bay on March 12, punching a worker at Elegant Cleaners and Tailors on East 24th Street and stealing $300 at about 6:45 p.m.

Two weeks later on March 27, police said the robber attacked a 70-year-old woman working at the 29th Street Laundry when she refused to give him money, punching her in the face and throwing her to the ground. The suspect fled without any money around 7:25 p.m.

The most recent incident occurred March 29 at 5:20 p.m., when the robber took $500 from the register at Lok’s Laundry on East 81st Street.

Police described the suspect as a 45-to-55-year-old black man, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and weighing 190 pounds. He was wearing a dark, waist-length jacket with a blue hoodie and blue jeans and carrying a small silver knife, according to police.

Cops ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), submit a tip online or text 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577.
