A 26-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in the murder of a Brooklyn landlord four months ago, police said.

Kendel Felix, of Crown Heights, faces a second-degree murder charge for allegedly suffocating Menachem Stark, police said. Other suspects were questioned in connection with the fatal abduction, according to multiple media reports.

Stark, 39, was last seen on Jan. 2 leaving his office on Rutledge Street in South Williamsburg during a blizzard, police said. Grainy surveillance footage shows him in a struggle with two people before they forced him into a van.

The married father of seven was found dead 16 miles away the next day, his body burning in a Dumpster at a gas station in Great Neck, New York, Nassau County police said.

Police were unable to immediately confirm the motive for the killing. The New York Daily News reported that Stark was the victim of a “robbery gone wrong,” while sources told DNAinfo New York several men were hired to simply scare him into paying outstanding debts.

Police have said Stark, well-known in Williamsburg’s Hasidic community, was plagued by business troubles and mortgage defaults before his death.
