Help sought to ID man’s remains found on Revere Beach
Authorities are asking for help in their attempt to identify a man who washed up recently on Revere Beach and have released pictures of some of the clothes the man was wearing.
Investigators on Monday released photos of the man’s pants and boxer shorts, hoping someone will be able to recognize the unique aspects of them.
A passerby found the remains washed ashore on April 30.
“The conditions of the remains has thus far hindered investigators’ efforts to identify the man or determine his ethnicity,” the Suffolk district attorney’s office said in a statement.
A forensic investigation has so far revealed the the man was between 20 and 40 years old and likely on the younger end of that range.
A Kryptonite bicycle lock key was found in the man’s jeans. The jeans were American Eagle brand blue jeans with a 30-inch waist, cinched with a black, braided leather belt.
Additionally, the man was wearing boxer shorts with the image of a Volkswagen Beetle on them.
The cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
“Somewhere, there may be a mother, father, son, or daughter suffering the worst kind of uncertainty,” said Suffolk District Attorney Dan Conley in a statement. “If we can identify this man, we can at least put an end to that waiting and worrying and allow them some closure. Even if members of the public don’t have specific information, they can share these details online and, perhaps, help us reach the loved ones who need to know.”
