‘Harlem Shake’ video made during Frontier flight now being investigated by FAA
Aside from being incredibly annoying and overdone, a “Harlem Shake” video can also apparently get you in trouble with the Federal Aviation Administration.
A video circulating online shows passengers, including members of the Colorado College Ultimate Frisbee team, participating in the making of the viral-style video on what appears to be Frontier flight 157. The “Harlem Shake” involves (in case you live under a rock) one person kicking off a room-wide — in this case, plane-wide — dance fest, often including various confusing costumes and maniacal body movements.
What better place to create this scene than the friendly skies? The FAA didn’t quite get the intended kick out of the video and has now launched an investigation into whether any federal regulations were violated.
Frontier airline didn’t have much to say about the incident other than, “All safety measures were followed and the seat belt sign was off.”
The video has been viewed more than 681,000 times on YouTube.
