VIDEO: Miss USA’s Utah flubs answer in a hilariously bad way

We thought contestants for Miss USA had brains and beauty. Last night, Utah’s answer to a judge’s question proved only one of those to be true.

The raven-haired beauty Marissa Powell made it pretty far in the competition, coming in as third runner-up.

But it was Powell’s answer to a controversial question—not her bikini body—that had everyone talking today. Television personality and actress NeNe Leakes asked Powell about the disparity between male and female incomes in the family unit in the United States during the interview portion.

Utah flubbed the answer pretty brutally. It reminded us of this hilariously awful Miss Teen USA 2007 clip where Miss South Carolina apparently forgot how to construct coherent sentences in the English language. Caitlyn Upton answered a question about the fact that a fifth of Americans cannot located the United States on a map. Her ramble included words like “uh,” “such as” and “the Iraq.”

This time around, Utah’s Powell had a twinkle in her eye knowing she was messing up the answer, but kept trudging along with a white, toothy smile the entire time.

She started: “I think we can relate this back to education and how we are … continuing … to try to strive … to … [smiles] figure out how to create jobs.”

It gets worse. Watch.
