As the United States Supreme Court made a historic decision Wednesday in terms of gay marriage and equality, a number of celebrities logged on to social media to tweet their excitement.

The Supreme Court determined that the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), signed by President Bill Clinton in 1996, is unconstitutional, therefore granting federal benefits to same sex-couples. The Court also struck down Proposition 8, a 2008 law enacted in California that banned gay marriage.

Gay marriage advocates celebrated outside the courthouse Wednesday morning and the large crowed cheered “DOMA is dead” as they hugged and cried.

Celebrities such as ‘Modern Family’s’ Jesse Tyler Ferguson, talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres, ‘Watch What Happens Live’ funnyman Andy Cohen, who have been outspoken about gay rights, all took to Twitter to express their excitement. The celebratory messages also came from gay rights advocates such as Leonardo Di Caprio, Ben Affleck and Lena Dunham, who said she is going to love a gay wedding.

Of course, not everyone was excited as the above celebrities. Listen to Glenn Beck’s reaction, who believes the ruling will lead to polygamy.

He also said he believes he’s losing his right to practice his religion.

“You’re about to lose your right to have your church say ‘I’m not going to marry homosexual couples.’ Now, excuse me, but I have a right to practice my religion as I see fit and what they’re going to ask you to do is deny the Bible,” he said. “Now the Bible is very, very clear … I’m not going to deny the Bible and you have no right to tell me to do so.”
