VIDEO: Terrified man tries to catch giant huntsman spider with box on a stick

WARNING: Arachnophobes, do not watch this!

Have you ever crept towards a spider in horror as you try to mentally psych yourself into catching it in a cup and letting it go outside? Have you ever been so paralyzed with fear at the sight of an eight-legged intruder on your wall that you simply do not know what do to next?

We all have our horror stories about the time we had to deal with a huge spider in our homes, but something tells us this video tops anyone else’s “huge spider” legend. This thing is ginormous.

The person who posted the video said the arachnid was a huntsman spider, which is one of the largest varieties in the world and they’re also very quick – as demonstrated in this creepy clip. The poor guy finds the spider in his home and makes several attempts to catch it in a container. He’s also wearing a huge pair of gloves – you know, just to be safe.

Just when he gets close, he chickens out and can’t do it (can you blame him?). Finally, he devises a new (somewhat hilarious) plan. He tapes an empty Toblerone chocolate container to the box to use as a handle in order to trap the spider without having to get too close. Unfortunately for him, the spider is quicker and makes a mad, gasp-inducing dash at the last second – also scaring to death our dear hero. After the spider moves around quite a bit more and just when we are really losing our patience, the man finally catches it.

One thing about hunstman spiders, though, is that they are known to prey on cockroaches. So we guess the real question is, what would you rather deal with?
