Rhode Island authorities seek child believed kidnapped after homicides
Police were seeking a 2-year-old boy believed to have been kidnapped after a double homicide on Sunday morning in Rhode Island.
Malcolm Crowell, 22, was suspected of abducting the child, identified as Isaiah Perez, from a house in Johnston, outside of Providence, Johnston police said.
An Amber Alert, a statewide child-abduction notice, was issued for the boy, they said.
Two people were killed in the Johnston house shortly before dawn, according to police.
“He’s considered armed and dangerous,” Deputy Police Chief Daniel Parrillo said, adding that Crowell is also wanted for questioning in connection with the homicides.
Crowell, described as African American with brown hair and brown eyes, about 5′ 6″ tall and 145 lbs, has tattoos on his chest, left and right forearm.
Police declined to provide further details about the two people killed and their relationship to the child and Crowell, saying the investigation is ongoing.
