Electric Zoo tickets on sale Tuesday as festival increases security
In a statement, Made Event co-CEOs Mike Bindra and Laura D Palma said, “We are incredibly excited to bring Electric Zoo back to New York. Over the past five years, Electric Zoo has grown tremendously, becoming a critically acclaimed, internationally recognized music festival. The opportunity to again host Electric Zoo on Randall’s Island is a responsibility we take seriously, and we look forward to expanding our safety and security measures in order to further improve the concert experience for our fans.” Electric Zoo will host shorter shows this year in order to lower the risk of health-related accidents.
The electronic dance music (EDM) festival has been working with a firm to increase security measures this year. These measures include use of drug-sniffing dogs, screenings at transportation staging areas, security surveys for ticket purchasers and increased use of uniformed and undercover security officers.
In addition, festival goers will have access to free or low-cost electrolytes and unlimited free water.
Electric Zoo organizers also said in their statement that they plan to blast anti-drug campaigns on social media. Ticket purchasers will have to watch a PSA before they can validate their ticket. The festival has yet to announce its lineup.
