One path to truth
Which process is more likely to lead us to objective truth?
Option one: Read that someone who heard voices long ago disapproved of shrimp and gay people. Declare one opinion to be absolute truth. Ignore the other. Done.
Option two: Consider what premises seem likely to be true. Reason carefully about what conclusions follow from those premises. Re-examine whether it still seems likely that the premises are true. Repeat indefinitely.
I know which approach I’m more optimistic about.
