It is all about race
Re: ‘Zimmerman case wasn’t about race’ (Metro, July 22)
I am so sick of listening to you “right-winger conservatives” say over and over that this case was not about race but about self-defense.
Really? Let me ask you this: What prompted Zimmerman to suspect Trayvon Martin in the first place? He saw a black boy walking the neighborhood alone.
What if he had seen a white boy with blond hair and blue eyes instead? Would Mr. Zimmerman have thought him suspicious?
Would he have uttered the words “I am sick of these punks always getting away”? I don’t think so. Therefore, this case is all about race.
