A Shakespeare classic that was just dying for a sequel
Re: ‘Where Romeo and Juliet ended’ (Metro, Aug. 6)
I just wanted to thank you guys for putting the “Romeo and Juliet” sequel on the front page yesterday.
Everything in that article from the name of the book (“Still Star-Crossed”… was Romeo’s Revenge already taken?) to the author’s indication that she “didn’t do as much research as you might think” had me laughing all through my subway ride.
Personally, I’ve always thought “Romeo and Juliet” ended on a bit of an unfinished note, what with the two main characters dead and everything.
Thank goodness someone FINALLY took the time to finish Shakespeare’s most obviously incomplete story line. COMEDY GOLD!
