Letter: Unhappy with civic service? Volunteer
Re: ‘Civic duty is a pain in the neck’ (Metro Nov. 7)
Letter writer Christina Louis’ complaints about poor service and old workers at her polling place speaks more to her sense of entitlement and perhaps her generation’s reputation as complainers. Not to pat myself on the back, but when I was in my 30s I took vacation days from my job to serve in my polling place twice a year (at about $25 for a 14-hour day).
Hey, here’s an idea! Instead of taking time to letter-whine about bad service, you should volunteer and make it better!
