Letter: The buck stops with Congress
Re: ‘Are visits to the vet covered?’ (Metro, Nov. 13)
Apparently, Metro reader Arthur Horn and others like him have forgotten one of the most basic facts of government: The president DOES NOT make all of the decisions. The president doesn’t even make most of the decisions. CONGRESS does. What is Congress? The House and Senate. Though the president may be able to introduce ideas, wants and wishes, CONGRESS makes the edits and votes to pass bills/laws. It’s not about the commander-in-chief lying, it’s about the overall decision not being his. Want to blame someone? Blame Congress, not the obvious fall guy.

What does it say about a government that gives free health care to illegals — no questions asked — politicians, inmates in prisons and veterans (well-deserved). Then when it’s time for the working class to get health- care, we are thrown into a whirlpool of red tape.
