Hines, 40, was reportedly visiting a relative when she called her and said “come home now,” CBS News reported. The relative found the two children lying side-by-side and facing up on a bed in a master bedroom.

Hines admitted to police that she used a bed sheet to suffocate her son, 7 months, and then did the same to her 3-year-old daughter. She gave no motive for killing them.

Police have charged Hines with two counts of premeditated murder. She is being held without bail at the Broward County Jail.

Anthony Singleton, Hines’ husband of four months and the father to her 7-month-old, told 6ABC that he saw her as a good mother.

“She was really good with kids,” Singleton said. “Last person I would have thought would do something to my son… to her daughter.”
