The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Reached by phone late Monday, a spokeswoman for the Philadelphia Police Department said that Grant was asked multiple times to leave the store by the store manager, as well as by police officers.

“It’s private property, and when they want you to go, you gotta go,” she said.

The spokeswoman confirmed Grant was still being processed in a Center City precinct Monday night. She could not say whether or not he would remain in custody overnight.
