Five injured, 100 homeless in Philly fire

Philadelphia firefighters Wednesday morning were still pouring water on hot spots at the Rita Grace Manor apartments, where five people were injured and more than 100 left homeless the night before in a stubborn fire

“Our members are still on-scene putting water on the bldg from last nights 4-alarm fire,” the PFD reported on Twitter at 9 a.m.

The first call for the fire at the Academy Road complex, near Holme Avenue in Torresdale, came in at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday. Officials reported that high winds made the blaze more difficult to put out.

Displaced residents were taken by the Red Cross to a make-shift shelter at Abraham Lincoln High School.

Burlington Bus Crash injures 10 people
Three people were hospitalized and seven others injured Wednesday morning after a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Burlington County, NJ.

The accident happened at 8:30 a.m. on Woodlane Road in Westhampton in Burlington County, N.J.

Three people were hospitalized and seven treated at the scene. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

Montco deadbeat parents arrested in Philly
Eight deadbeat parents were netted overnight in a raid in Philly, city and Montgomery County officials said.

The suspects owed support to Montgomery County children, but their last known addresses were within Philadelphia city limits, CBS Philly reports.

The biggest deadbeat parent owed almost fifty grand.
