Photos: Phish drummer stumps for Bernie Sanders in Philly

Phish drummer John Fishman dropped into Philly Sunday and Monday to urge young voters to register by the March 28 deadline so they can vote in the state primaryfor presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders.

Fishman was at Sweettooth in South Philly meeting fans — including a 7-year-old girl who has already been to 21 Phish shows — to urge them to register to vote in the Pennsylvania primary for Vermont senator and proudly socialistic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

If only Abbi Jacobson was there. Jacobson, co-creator and star of the Comedy Central hit Broad City, is a Wayne, Pa. native and a huge Phish-head, as she proudly proclaimed in the recent Philly-set episode, “Philadelphia.” Her character’s favorite Phish album is Rift.

Fishman, 51, was born in Philly, but grew up in Syracuse, New York. He is scheduled to be at North Bowl in NoLibs from 9 p.m. to midnight continuing to help get voters registered.

Pennsylvania voters can vote on presidential candidates and candidates for local races in the primary on April 26.
