Trump’s visit to Philly Thursday will mean road closures

The Secret Service will be establishingsecure barriers in Center City Thursday morning in preparation for President Donald Trump’s visit to Philadelphia, shutting down traffic in the area just east of City Hall.

Trump and Republican members of Congress will be attending the annual Republican House Senate Leadership Conference at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel at 12th and Market streets.Meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May, Trump will also discuss free trade and the Iran nuclear deal.

The Republican retreat will take place fromWednesday to Friday, and the following road and pedestrian closures will be in place Thursday, from 8 a.m. until at least 6 p.m., when Trump is in town.

Road closures

13th Street from Chestnut toMarket

Market Street from 11thto Juniper

12th Street from Chestnut to Arch

Drivers can also expect rolling closures for the dignitary movement Thursday.

Parking restrictions

Any car parked on the streets listed above will be towed to the PPA impound lot at 2501 S. Weccacoe Ave. near the South Philadelphia Ikea.

Pedestrian restrictions

The Secret Service’s perimeter also applies to pedestrians on the following blocks:

1100 and 1200 blocks of Market Street, on north and south sides.

12th Street from Chestnut to Filbert, both east and west sides.

13th Street from Chestnut to Market, both east and west sides.
