Philadelphia police are investigating a robbery and shooting that left one man injured in North Philadelphia near Temple University's main campus.
On Sept. 3, around 5:45 a.m., three men, aged 19, 22 and 23, were walking near 18th Street and Susquehanna Avenue when they were approached by two unknown black males. The suspects pointed a handgun at the group, demanding their cellphones and money, police said.The suspects fled once the victims handed over their belongings, but two of the victims chased them down into an alleyway.
There, the suspect turned and struck the 19-year-old in the head with a gun, then fired one shot, striking the victim in the right calf, police said.
The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital by Temple Police, and was listed in stable condition.
The Philadelphia Police Department has released surveillance footage of the two suspects in the 7-Eleven at Broad and Diamond streets prior to the incident at 18th and Susquehanna.
