Saer Sene is finding his groove.

The striker with riveting ability has battled back from a left ACL tear that he suffered toward the end of the 2012 season and finally looked at home in the Revs’ 2-0 victory over San Jose last Saturday.

“Not back to 100 percent (yet),” Sène said. “I need time. After injuries, it’s hard because you lose your rhythm, and you have to work hard to get it back. But I am getting back slowly. The coach and everyone is giving me the time to play 90 minutes and I’m going to get back and try to do my best for the team.”

Sene played 90 minutes in back-to-back games for the first time this season against the Earthquakes and Chivas USA the week prior. He had been used as a 25-30 minute substitute for much of the first half of the season for head coach Jay Heaps. The patience that Heaps has shown with his electric forward looks to be paying off and could give the Revs that extra boost to climb up the standings in the second half of the year.

The Revs own a 6-5-6 record and are in the middle of the pack of the MLS Eastern Conference standings heading into this weekend’s showdown with the Houston Dynamo at Gillette Stadium (Saturday, 7:30 p.m., CSN). The Dynamo have worn the Eastern Conference crown each of the last two seasons.
