Eagles’ Cary Williams not a fan of Patriots’ ‘diry play,’ jokes

The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots were bound to get sick of each other after a pair of joint practices and a full preseason game.

Count Philly cornerback Cary Williams among those who have no love for Bill Belichick’s crew. Williams, who played for New England rival Baltimore from 2009-2012, wishes his new team was a little bit more like his old squad in the attitude department.

“They came in there talking,” Williams said of the Patriots, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. “They had a lot of jokes and tee-hees and laughs. Dirty plays that were going on.”

Williams and Pats rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson were disciplined after a mini-brawl broke out after a whistle in last Tuesday’s joint practice.

“There’s a reason behind what I did,” Williams told the Daily News. “ There’s a reason behind the madness. At the end of the day, I’ve still got to do things the way the coach wants me to do it, and I understand that, but it definitely would have been a different situation in Baltimore. It wouldn’t have been a fun practice for the Patriots, I’ll tell you that.”
