They spent 10 years in the same rotation and now they will enter the Baseball Hall of Fame together. Former Braves Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux were both easily elected to Hall on Wednesday.

They will be joined by Chicago White Sox slugger Frank Thomas as the only three people elected to the Hall of Fame.

Maddux earned an overwhelming 97.2 percent of the vote, the eighth-highest total of all time. Glavine received 91.7 percent of the vote.

“Going in with Greg is just an added bonus for me personally,” Glavine said on MLB Network’s telecast announcing the honors.

Astros second baseman and outfielder Craig Biggio fell just 0.2 percent short of election, at 74.8 percent of the vote.

Maddux won 355 games in his career, pitching most notably for the Cubs and Braves. He won four Cy Young awards in four straight years from 1992 to 1995. He also won 18 Gold Gloves, including 13 in a row, as one of the greatest defensive pitchers of all time. His career wins above replacement of 104.6 is eighth all time.

Glavine, who pitched the first 16 years of his career in Atlanta, won 305 games, had a career 3.54 ERA and won two Cy Young Awards in 1991 and 1998.

Both Glavine and Smoltz won a World Series with Atlanta in 1995.

Thomas, meanwhile, spent his time at the plate as one of the most consistent hitters of the 1990s. He hit 521 home runs, but also batted .301 with a .419 on-base percentage. He won two MVPs in 1993 and 1994 when he was unquestionably the most feared hitter in the league. Thomas was also a five-time All Star.

“This has been a long couple days and I’m just so excited I’m in the Hall of Fame,” Thomas told MLB Network.

Thomas also now holds the distinction of being the first player to be elected to the Hall of Fame after spending the majority of his career as a designated hitter.
