The Phillies got their third win of the spring with the excitement and solid pitching that fans have been waiting for in a 6-5 win over the Orioles Wednesday.

A.J. Burnett made his third start of the preseason and went four-plus frames, working out of several jams and allowing three runs, two of them on a Nolan Reimold homer in the fifth.

“I’m getting there,” Burnett told reporters. “My timing is still a little off. I did strike out a guy with my curveball today; I was going to throw a party.”

Burnett lowered his high ERA to 10.00, but he has gotten better each time he has taken the mound as a Phillie.

“The next time out I’m going to be stronger,” he said.

The offense gave manager Ryne Sandberg a sigh of relief, as Phillies batters collected 12 hits — six of them for extra bases, and three of those scoring runs with two outs.

Bobby Abreu hit a double and a triple, and Dominic Brown hit a triple and drove in three runs.

Freddy Galvis and Ben Revere also had triples, with Chase Utley and Ryan Howard also adding base hits in the victory.

The Phillies bullpen also looked solid, with Shawn Camp, Phillippe Aumont and Kevin Munson each throwing scoreless innings in relief.
