Celtics blown out by Rockets in Houston

In possibly the ugliest game of the season, the Celtics were routed 109-85 by the Rockets Tuesday night in Houston. It was the fourth straight loss for the Celtics, dropping them to 4-8 on the year.

Houston shot an impressive 57 percent from the field with all five starters reaching double figures in points. Terrence Jones led the way with 24 points, while Dwight Howard had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Rockets led 40-18 after the first quarter and never looked back.

For the Celtics, Courtney Lee had 17 points off the bench, while Avery Bradley and Jared Sullinger finished with 11 and 10 points respectively in the loss. The visitors will dominated in the paint as 60 of Houston’s 109 came inside the paint.

The Celtics will look to get back on the winning track Wednesday night (8:00, CSNNE) in San Antonio where they will take on the Spurs.

What they’ll be saying: There isn’t much to say following this bashing, but the Celtics don’t have much time to turn things around as including the Spurs on Wednesday, the Celtics will play seven games over 10 days in five cities. As poorly as they played in all facets of the game against the Rockets, they have a lot of things to improve upon in a short period of time.
