Sixers have another chance to end streak vs. Kings

It isn’t that they aren’t trying.

The Sixers looked to give maximum effort Monday night in Madison Square Garden against the Knicks, eventually surrendering in a 123-110 defeat.

But the team has to win sometime, doesn’t it?

The 76ers will enter the Wells Fargo Center in South Philly Wednesday night with a chance to lose their 18th straight game, halfway to the 0-36 mark possible if they lose out for the rest of the year.

The Kings are in town, and offer the Sixers their last chance to get an elusive win before their schedule really gets tough.

Following their home-date with Sacramento at 7 p.m., the Sixers will face 11 straight teams in playoff contention, if you count the Knicks and Pistons who are just two games out in the East.

During that stretch, the 76ers will face the first-place Pacers twice, the Bulls, Grizzlies and Spurs among others.

The next losing squad they will face, ironically enough, is on April 4 against the Celtics, the date Nerlens Noel claimed he wanted to return to the hardwood on.

Even with repetitive defeat plaguing his season, Micheal Carter-Williams remains the top candidate for to win Rookie of the Year. In the loss in New York Monday he posted a triple double.
