Bradley stars in Celtics’ loss to Nets
Despite Avery Bradley’s game-high 28 points on 12-of-19 shooting, the Celtics fell to the Nets, 114-98 on the road Friday night. With the loss the C’s are now 23-47 on the year.
The Celtics were never really in this one as they trailed by 10 at the half and 16 after three quarters. Besides Bradley, the C’s had three other starters reach double-figures in points as Jeff Green posted 16, while Kris Humphries and Rajon Rondo each had 12 in the loss.
Joe Johnson had a team-high 27 points, while Paul Pierce added 14 in the win for Brooklyn.
The Celtics will have a few days off before hosting Toronto Wednesday night (7:30, CSNNE).
What they’ll be saying: Even though the C’s had four of their five starters record double digit points, it wasn’t their night as they allowed the Nets to shoot 56 percent from the floor and outscore them in the paint by 32 points (62-32). As it stands now the Celtics have the sixth worse record in the NBA, and the sixth-best chance at the first overall pick in next year’s draft.
