Many are down on the Patriots despite their 2-0 start to the 2013 season. The long-basement dwelling Dolphins, meanwhile, will take 2-0 any way they can get it.
Miami joined the Pats at the top of the AFC East standings yesterday, courtesy of a 24-20 victory over the Colts in Indianapolis.
Ryan Tannehill threw for 319 yards and a touchdown and Charles Clay’s 1-yard touchdown plunge in the third quarter helped hold off a Colts rally.

Bills edge Panthers
EJ Manuel got the bet of quarterback counterpart Cam Newton yesterday in Orchard Park, N.Y., passing for 296 yards and a touchdown, as the Bills rallied to best Carolina, 24-23.
Manuel’s 2-yard touchdown pass to Stevie Johnson with two seconds remaining won it for Buffalo, which improved to 1-1.

Chargers upset Eagles
Chip Kelly was dealt his first NFL loss yesterday, courtesy of Philip Rivers and the Chargers.
The San Diego quarterback tossed three touchdown passes to Eddie Royal in a shootout which saw Michael Vick throw for a career-high 428 yards.
Nick Novak’s 46-yard field goal with seven seconds left won it for the Chargers.

Chiefs take down Cowboys
Andy Reid improved to 2-0 as head coach of the Chiefs as KC edged Dallas, 17-16 at Arrowhead Stadium yesterday.
Alex Smith tossed a pair of touchdowns and had 223 yards through the air. KC has not turned the ball over once so far in 2013.
