If you wondered what all those sirens were about in Center City on Tuesday evening, it was this.

An apartment building located at 2122 Locust Street has become an inferno as Philadelphia firefighters continue to fight against bitterly cold winds feeding oxygen to the flames.

6ABC reported that the blaze erupted around 5:35 p.m. and swiftly went from two alarms to four.

"I gathered whatever I could [and] quickly went outside," building resident Habib Bhatti told NBC10. "As I was going there was smoke starting to build up on the lower floors. Then we got out. We could see smoke starting to come from the floors."

Firefighters told reporters that, so far, no injuries are reported but that the area is cordoned off from traffic and pedestrians.

A Center City resident uploaded video he says shows the fire viewed from his fire escape.
