Percy Street Barbecue Dave & Buster’s SkyBrunch
900 South St.
Pig out on pig — plus brisket and chicken — at Percy Street, from the crew behind Federal Donuts. If Dad is usually the one manning the grill, this will give him a break from barbecue duties while still letting everyone dig into smoky meats plus classic sides like cornbread and cole slaw. And when you buy Dad one beer, the restaurant will offer his second for free: a can of Victory Summer Love.
325 N. Columbus Blvd.
When’s the last time you and Pops played pool? Get your game on at the Philly outpost of this entertainment complex, with games, tons of TVs, beer and hearty bar food. Dad can drink a Bud – or an alcoholic snow cone — while he proves he’s still the king of skee ball. There are also locations in Franklin Mills and Plymouth Meeting.
118 S. 20th St.
Head to this Jose Garces spot in Rittenhouse for the Father’s Day Bacon, Bourbon and BBQ Bash, where you can treat your dad to barbecue and flights of house-cured bacon paired with the most manly of drinks. Experts will be behind the bar to play guide, so you can both bone up on your meat and whiskey knowledge. It’s $75 a person, and runs from 3 to 5 p.m.
Sixth and Race streets
Mini kids can spend the afternoon with Dad playing mini golf at Franklin Square and take in a concert hosted by WXPN Kids’ Corner’s Kathy O'Connell, featuring family-friendly music duo Ernie & Neal. The event is from noon to 3 p.m. and it’s free, but you need tickets for mini golf or carousel rides. Stop by the Square Burger stand for the shake of the month: Strawberry Shortcake.
1717 Arch St.
Dine above it all at SkyBrunch, an extensive buffet on the 50th floor of Three Logan Center with sweeping views of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s usually the event space Top of the Tower, but on Sundays they serve up an all-you-can-eat brunch for $50, which includes a cocktail (kids under 2 eat free; kids 3 to 12 pay their age). For Father’s Day, they’re adding a Yards beer tasting, included in the price, and a photo booth.
