A Philadelphia woman is facing simple assault charges after allegedly causing a disturbance at a Dunkin Donuts in Southwest Center City, according to a Philly.com report.

Safaa Brown, 22, of Ellsworth Street, is accused of entering the Dunkin’ Donuts, at 1551 Washington Ave., about 6:50 a.m. Feb. 12 and knocking items off the counter and throwing a ceramic mug at the store owner, who was injured in the attack, according to the report.

Brown’s lawyer told Philly.com that Brown “saw red’ and had a “knee jerk” reaction after the manager used a racial slur to describe her.

She’s due back in court May 20.
