Woman killed by car after exiting trolley in South Philly

A woman was killed after being struck by a passing car while she was exiting a trolley in South Philadelphia on Monday morning.

The incident, which reportedly happened around 9:15 in the morning, was caused by a car attempting to go around the stopped trolley, ABC reports.

SEPTA is currently operating a shuttle between 49th St and 58th St. with trolleys detouring over Chester Ave. between 49th St and 58th St.

The name of the woman has not been released.
