A North Philadelphia woman admitted in court that she planned to abandon her two children and travel to Syria to join an ISIS fighter she married over the internet.

Keonna Thomas, 32, pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization, the Inquirer reported. She said she was thwarted in her plan last year when federal agents raided her home.

The federal public defenders representing Thomas had challenged the prosecution’s case by attacking the tactics used to surveil Thomas.

Thomas allegedly circulated terrorist propaganda online using the name Fatayat Al Khilafah, according to a plea memo filed with the court.

Nearly 60 people have been charged in ISIS-related activities in U.S. courts last year, according to media reports.
