It’s a safe bet that Bill Belichick isn’t a fan of Christmas. Too much traffic, too much chaos, too much joy. Plus we already know he doesn’t exactly make the most striking Santa.
Fourth of July? Meh. Not enough football.
Thanksgiving? Plenty of football, but WAYYYYY too much “family and friends” time. Who wants to talk to other human beings, really?
Valentine’s Day? Please.
It comes as no surprise that All Hallow’s Eve, the people’s holiday, is Belichick’s favorite. He said so in his “Football Life” documentary a few years back when then-Pats wide receiver Randy Moss asked him upfront if he wanted to go to a team “dress-up” event.
“Candy and costumes. How can you beat that?” an excited Belichick said. Belichick said.
The documentary then showed the team rollerskating in Halloween outfits and Belichick soon-after showed up after dressed as a pirate. This was in 2009. Last night, Belichick’s girlfriend Linda Holliday (click here for your own personal Holliday)sent out the above photo of herself and Belichick via Instagram. In other words, Belichick went as a Pirate AGAIN. There’s no doubt that it’s the exact same costume from 2009.
I get that once you’re over the age of 30, dressing up for Halloween at all is considered enough. But Bill, this is YOUR holiday. YOUR chance for role play. YOUR chance to frighten. A little variety goes a long way. Maybe next year. Until you change things up, we deem you “inactive” for all Halloweens going forward.
