Typically, media-on-media crimes end with a collective yawn from the general public.

But when media-on-media crime involves a good lookin’ gal seeking her big break, a poor old television icon and a detestable sports columnist, the rules change. Here is Katie Nolan, of Framingham (Mass.) High School fame, ripping ESPN’s Rick Reilly to shreds this week after Reilly poked fun at Regis Philbin during Super Bowl week:

The Internet instantly fell in love with Nolan, who regularly appears on FOX Sports 1s ratings nightmare “Crowd Goes Wild” — which will be rid of Philbin soon but will likely be canceled altogether in the near future. On the show, Nolan is listed as a “digital correspondent,” which more or less means she’s fightin’ for her damn life out there!

While Edward R. Murrow is in no danger of having Nolan replace him in the early lesson plans of Broadcast Journalism 101 courses across the country (see: Nolan tried to eat nine hot dogs and drink nine beers in nine innings at a Mets game last year)she nonethelessquickly won over the masses this week with her Reilly-bashing pipe bomb.

It was such a good rantthat her touring ofEast Rutherford, N.J., this weeknow seems like a really goodidea and is, I don’t know, cute?
