Boston Marathon: Don’t feel like running? Head out to party instead

You didn’t really feel like suffering through 26.2 miles today, anyway. Here’s five places to enjoy Marathon Monday without all the sweat.

Looking for the experience of the Boston Marathon without the 26.2 miles of sweat, exhaustion and peculiar body odor?

Go out, grab a drink, watch some runners and enjoy an annual tradition on one of Boston’s favorite fake holidays.

Hit Audobon Circle by Fenway, where spectators can rest on the outdoor patio in a bar praised as much for its classy atmosphere and food selection as its variety of mixed drinks.

Down the road at Kenmore Square, you can stop at Eastern Standard. Known as one of the swankiest restaurant bars in town, this place knows how to make you feel like one of Boston’s elite.

Try Boylston Street for the Pour House Bar and Grill. Adorned with graffiti, neon bar signs and 17 HD TVs, this is the classic Boston bar experience.

A few doors down is the Cactus Club, which will be opening early to kick off its annual celebration with plenty of libations.

Want a seat right on the finish line? Situated right at the race’s famed end near Copley Square, Solas will open to the public at 5 p.m. today.
