The B’s fell to the Flyers Saturday.
Two days off didn’t help the Bruins much as they continued to not look like themselves. Boston lost 3-1 Saturday to Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. For the fourth straight game, the Bruins (21-8-4) fell behind 2-0. With the loss, Boston is 2-4-1 in its last seven games with two contests left before the NHL trade deadline on Wednesday (3 p.m.).
Former Bruin Mike Knuble gave the Flyers (14-17-3) a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal (remember what those are?) in the first period. Boston was 0 for 2 on the power play, meaning it’s scored once in it’s last 16 chances. Matt Read scored in the second period for Philadelphia and that turned out to be the game-winner. Nathan Horton provided the B’s lone highlight when he tallied his 10th goal of the season but no one else on the Black and Gold wanted to help Tuukka Rask (19 saves).
Ruslan Fedotenko’s empty-netter with 59 seconds left wrapped it up for Philly. Boston is back at it Sunday (7:30 p.m., NBC Sports Network) in Buffalo against the Sabres (13-16-6).
